All wines from the Chinon appellation in Loire

In Touraine, this appellation extends over 2,100 hectares, planted mainly with Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon, up to 25% of the vineyard authorized since 2000, for red wines and rosé wines, and Chenin for the small proportion of white wine produced. Depending on the terroir from which it comes, Chinon can be light and delicate, very aromatic (with red fruit notes), if produced on gravel soils along the banks of the Vienne, or full-bodied and structured, with complex aromas of stewed black fruits, sweet spices and game, if it comes from the tuffeau hillsides or clay-flint plateaus. All have an intense cherry to violet-colored robe, which evolves towards brown tones with purple reflections.
