Domaine Armand Rousseau presents its Ruchottes-Chambertin Grand Cru 2023, a Pinot Noir from a monopole with limestone soils. Notes of red fruits, violet and saline minerality, aged in oak barrels for a precise palate. Perfect from 2030 onwards with lamb or cheese.
A Burgundian institution rooted in Gevrey-Chambertin, Domaine Armand Rousseau perpetuates a family legacy in which precision of terroir has been paramount for nearly a century.
- Terroir: Oolitic limestone soils of the Côte de Nuits, the cradle of Burgundy's most mineral Grand Crus.
- Vinification: Aging in French oak barrels, with absolute respect for the fruit and the natural tension of the Pinot Noir.
Tasting notes for the wine Domaine Armand Rousseau Ruchottes-Chambertin Grand Cru Clos des Ruchottes 2023
To the eye: A deep red robe with garnet reflections, of silky density and crystalline clarity.
On the nose: Aromas of fresh pomegranate and Morello cherry intertwine with notes of violet and liquorice, carried by a characteristic saline and chalky touch of the terroir.
On the palate: A velvety and taut texture, where lively acidity and calcareous minerality draw out a long and precise finish, marked by a persistent mineral elegance.
Serve between 14 and 16°C in a Burgundy glass to reveal its full complexity.
Vintage 2023
A vintage where freshness and concentration blend together, offering a vibrant and structured expression of the Clos des Ruchottes.
- Ageing potential: To be kept until 2040 under optimal conditions (cool cellar, away from light and vibrations).
