The Auguste Clape Cornas 2022 in Magnum, born from the granitic soils of Cornas, is a Syrah aged 20 months in foudres. Raspberry, violet and truffle mingle with a smoky touch. Tasting notes for the wine Domaine Auguste Clape Cornas 2022 Magnum
To the eye – A deep red robe with violet reflections, dense and silky, betraying a generous substance and a mineral elegance.
On the nose – Aromas of fresh raspberry and blooming violet, then black truffle and gentle spices, lifted by a saline touch and a subtle flint smokiness.
On the palate – Ample and fleshy attack, firm yet silky tannins, lively acidity and a long finish where chalky minerality and notes of roasted spices intertwine. Serving temperature: 17–18°C, in a Burgundy-style red wine glass to reveal its full complexity.
Vintage 2022
A vintage marked by optimal grape ripeness, combining concentration and freshness on the granitic slopes of Cornas.
- Aging potential: 15 to 30 years, to be stored in a cool cellar (12–14°C) and away from light.
