The Volnay 1er Cru Clos des Chênes 2018, from Domaine Michel Lafarge, is born on a clay-limestone terroir. This Pinot Noir, aged in barrels (20% new), captivates with its notes of dark fruit, spices and minerality, its fine tannins and freshness. Perfect through 2030 with rich dishes.

Heir to a family expertise dating back to the 19th century, this estate embodies the soul of Volnay, where Pinot Noir flourishes on exceptional terroirs.
- Terroir: Red clay and limestone soils in the Côte de Beaune, where the premier crus reveal a chalky minerality and silky elegance.
- Vinification: Traditional methods – full destemming, indigenous yeasts, ageing in barrels (10-20% new) – for wines of remarkable purity and tension.

- To the eye: Deep ruby robe with garnet reflections, of a velvety texture and crystalline brilliance.
- On the nose: Aromas of black cherry and wild blackberry intertwine with notes of bitter orange peel, liquorice and damp undergrowth, lifted by a saline and mineral touch.
- On the palate: Silky attack, fine and powdery tannins, lively acidity and chalky minerality carrying a long and precise finish, marked by nuances of prune and blonde tobacco.
Serve at 14-16°C in a Burgundy glass to release its full complexity.

A generous vintage, where the summer heat concentrated the fruit while preserving the characteristic mineral freshness of the great Volnay wines.
- Ageing potential: 15 to 20 years, to be stored under ideal conditions (stable temperature, controlled hygrometry).
