The Volnay 1er Cru Les Mitans 2023, a Pinot Noir from Domaine Michel Lafarge, reveals the soul of Volnay's clay-sandy hillsides. Its aromas of flowers and red fruits, aged in old barrels, combine with a fresh and mineral palate. A wine for ageing (5-10 years), perfect with game or aged cheeses.
Domaine Michel Lafarge
A family estate rooted in the heart of Volnay, where Burgundian heritage has been passed down for two centuries with uncompromising dedication.
- Terroir: Clay-limestone and clay-sandy soils of the Volnay premier crus, shaping wines of floral elegance and chalky minerality.
- Winemaking: Biodynamic viticulture, aged in old barrels to preserve the purity of the Pinot Noir and the faithful expression of the terroir.
Tasting notes for Domaine Michel Lafarge Volnay 1er Cru Les Mitans 2023
To the eye: A cherry-red robe of silky clarity, animated by ruby highlights that dance with lightness.
On the nose: An airy bouquet where fresh rose petals, tart morello cherry, a hint of peony and a subtle saline note reminiscent of Volnay's chalky subsoils intertwine.
On the palate: A velvety texture, carried by a lively and precise acidity, while a taut minerality guides a long and saline finish, where the echo of ripe red fruits lingers.
Serve at 14-16°C in a Burgundy glass to release its full aromatic complexity.
Vintage 2023
A vintage marked by vibrant freshness, where the balance between ripeness and tension gives rise to wines of remarkable precision.
- Ageing potential: 10 to 15 years, to be stored under ideal conditions (stable temperature between 12 and 14°C, controlled humidity).
