The Domaine du Collier Saumur La Charpentrie 2016 blanc, born on the limestone soils of Brézé, expresses the elegance of Chenin Blanc. Aged in barrels, this wine reveals notes of white flowers and honey, with a lively and mineral palate. Perfect to accompany refined dishes or aged cheeses.
Nestled on the slopes of Brézé, this family estate embodies the exigence of an exceptional terroir and the transmission of artisanal expertise.
- Terroir: Clay-limestone soils over Turonian limestone bedrock, in the Saumur appellation – a mineral setting that sculpts wines of rare precision.
- Winemaking: Extended aging in barrels, without superfluous intervention, to reveal the purity of Chenin Blanc and the chalky signature of the slopes.
Tasting notes for the wine domaine du Collier Saumur La Charpentrie 2016
To the eye – A golden robe with pale highlights, of silky clarity, like a veil of light on stone.
On the nose – Aromas of full-blown white flowers, ripe Williams pear, candied orange peel, then a saline touch and a hint of fresh almond evoking the breezes of the slopes.
On the palate – A dense and vibrant texture, carried by taut acidity and chalky minerality; the finish, long and saline, draws a straight and persistent line, the signature of the great Chenin wines of Brézé.
Serve between 10 and 12°C in a Burgundy-style white wine glass to bring out its complexity.
