Tasting notes for Clos Rougeard Saumur Brézé 2000
In the glass: a golden robe with pale highlights, of silky clarity, already hinting at the maturity and complexity of time.
On the nose: aromas of ripe quince and acacia blossom, then deeper notes of summer honey and flint, lifted by a saline touch characteristic of great Chenin Blancs.
On the palate: a smooth yet taut texture, carried by lively acidity and chalky minerality, leaving a long and persistent finish where candied fruits and mineral freshness intertwine.
Serve at 12–14°C in a white Burgundy-style wine glass to reveal its full purity.
