Egly-Ouriet Brut Grand Cru (Base 2020 - Disgorgement 2025) embodies the excellence of the Grands Crus of Ambonnay. Crafted from Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, this champagne, aged 48 months on lees, captivates with its silky texture and brioche notes. To be savored from today or until 2035.
Egly-Ouriet
A family house rooted in Ambonnay since 1860, Egly-Ouriet embodies the exacting standards of the grand crus of the Montagne de Reims.
- Terroir: Chalky and calcareous soils of Ambonnay, Bouzy and Verzenay – three Grand Cru villages where Pinot Noir and Chardonnay reveal their minerality.
- Vinification: Extended aging on lees, fermentation in barrels and minimal dosage to preserve the purity of the fruit and the tension of the terroir.
Tasting notes for the wine Egly-Ouriet Brut Grand Cru (Base 2020 - Disgorged 2025)
On the eye – Golden robe with pale reflections, enlivened by a fine and persistent effervescence, like a veil of silk over a chalky stone.
On the nose – Aromas of fresh Williams pear, candied lemon zest, golden buttery brioche, then deeper notes of toasted hazelnut and praline, lifted by a saline touch evoking sea spray.
On the palate – Ample and silky texture, carried by a lively and precise acidity, while the chalky minerality draws a long and slightly honeyed finish, where the echo of white-fleshed fruits lingers.
Serve between 10 and 12°C in a tall flute or a white wine glass to release its aromas.
Vintage 2020
A vintage of tension and freshness, where the balance between maturity and acidity gives birth to a Champagne that is both generous and upright.
- Aging potential: To be appreciated now or stored until 2035, in a cool cellar (12-14°C) away from light.
