The Ghislaine Barthod Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Cras 2005 embodies Burgundy. Sourced from chalky terroir, this Pinot Noir reveals raspberry, iris and black tea. Its silky and mineral palate lingers in the finish. Perfect until 2025, it pairs beautifully with game and meat in sauce.
Nestled at the heart of Chambolle-Musigny, this family estate embodies the discreet elegance of the Côte de Nuits. Since the 1920s, it has perpetuated a heritage where respect for the terroir is paramount.
- Terroir: clay-limestone soils, rich in white marls, which impart a chalky minerality and a characteristic tension to the wines.
- Vinification: traditional methods, measured extraction and ageing in barrels for wines of silky precision.
To the eye: a deep ruby robe with garnet reflections, of a dense and luminous texture.
On the nose: aromas of candied black raspberry, lightly smoked black tea, delicate iris and a hint of marzipan, lifted by a subtle chalky salinity.
On the palate: a silky attack, a lively and precise acidity, a chalky minerality that carries a long and floral finish, where fruity sweetness and soft spices intertwine.
Serve at 14-16°C in a Burgundy glass to reveal its full complexity.
A vintage marked by generous maturity and a balanced structure, ideal for wines meant for ageing.
- Ageing potential: to be cellared until 2030 under optimal conditions (stable temperature, controlled humidity).
