This Griotte-Chambertin Grand Cru 1998 from Joseph Drouhin, born on the calcareous hillsides of Gevrey-Chambertin, combines candied cherry, truffle and spices. Aged in barrels, it offers a silky palate and a mineral finish. Perfect until 2030 with red meats or cheeses.

To the eye: Deep garnet robe with tawny highlights, with a silky and luminous texture.
On the nose: Aromas of candied cherry and griotte liqueur, evolving towards notes of fine leather, nutmeg and a saline touch reminiscent of fresh truffle.
On the palate: Velvety attack, melted yet precise tannins, lively acidity and chalky minerality, with a long finish where red berries, orange peel and a subtle saline bitterness intertwine.
Serve between 16 and 18 °C in a Burgundy glass to reveal its full complexity.
