The Clos Vougeot Grand Cru 2018 from Domaine Georges Mugneret-Gibourg originates from the clay-limestone soils of the Côte de Nuits. This Pinot Noir offers notes of cherry, spices, and undergrowth, aged in barrels. Silky and mineral, it is ideally enjoyed with game or cheeses after 10–15 years of cellaring.
A family estate rooted at the heart of the Côte de Nuits, where the Burgundian heritage is passed down with rigor and passion.
- Terroir: prestigious Grand Cru plots, including the mythical Clos de Vougeot, where clay-limestone soils sculpt wines of unique mineral depth.
- Vinification: a traditional approach, combining patience and precision, to reveal the natural elegance of Pinot Noir.
Tasting notes for Domaine Georges Mugneret-Gibourg Clos Vougeot 2018
To the eye: a deep purple robe with garnet reflections, of a silky and luminous texture.
On the nose: a generous bouquet where black cherries, wild berries, a touch of gentle spices, and a subtle floral note intermingle, lifted by a chalky minerality.
On the palate: a velvety attack, carried by a lively acidity and an elegant tension, while fine tannins extend into a saline and persistent finish.
Serve at 16–18°C in a Burgundy glass to bring out its full complexity.
Vintage 2018
A sunny and balanced vintage, where the ripeness of the fruits pairs with a mineral freshness for wines of great precision.
- Aging potential: 15 to 20 years, to be stored under optimal conditions (stable temperature, controlled humidity).
