The Clos Vougeot Grand Cru 2020 Magnum from Mugneret-Gibourg, drawn from the emblematic soils of the Côte de Nuits, captivates with its aromas of red fruits and spices. On the palate, it combines silk and minerality. To be cellared for 10 to 20 years, it pairs beautifully with truffle risotto or game.
Domaine Mugneret-Gibourg
Nestled in the heart of Vosne-Romanée, this family estate perpetuates a viticultural heritage where precision and elegance have been passed down through three generations.
- Terroir: Exceptional plots in the Côte de Nuits, where clay-limestone soils and prestigious climates shape wines of rare depth.
- Vinification: A respectful approach, blending tradition and modernity to reveal the purity of Pinot Noir, without artifice.
Tasting notes for Domaine Mugneret-Gibourg Clos Vougeot 2020 Magnum
To the eye – A deep ruby robe with garnet reflections, of silky density.
On the nose – First, aromas of black cherry and wild blackberry, followed by a hint of violet and liquorice, before a subtle chalky note comes to anchor the bouquet in its terroir.
On the palate – A smooth yet taut texture, carried by a lively acidity and a saline minerality, leading to a long and precise finish where gentle spices and melted tannins intertwine.
Serve at 16–18°C in a Burgundy glass to bring out its full complexity.
2020 Vintage
A vintage marked by early maturity and remarkable concentration, yielding wines that are both powerful and balanced.
- Ageing potential: 15 to 20 years, to be stored in a cool cellar (12–14°C) away from light.
