Tasting notes for Domaine Georges Mugneret-Gibourg Clos Vougeot Grand Cru 2014
To the eye – A clear garnet robe, of crystalline clarity, where light dances with an almost silky texture.
On the nose – An airy bouquet of peony and morello cherry, followed by a touch of licorice and cedar, before closing on a subtle chalky salinity.
On the palate – An ample and velvety attack, carried by a lively acidity that underscores the minerality of the soils, for a long and spiced finish where white pepper and candied black fruits intermingle.
Serve at 16–18°C in a Burgundy glass to release its full complexity.
Vintage 2014
A vintage of balance, where freshness and ripeness echo one another in harmony across the great crus of the Côte de Nuits.
- Aging potential: 10 years and more, to be stored in a cellar at a stable temperature (12–14°C) and away from light.
