From the gravelly soils of Margaux, Château Rauzan-Ségla 1985 is an exceptional Grand Cru Classé. Its aromatic profile, blending cedar, blackcurrant and earthy notes, is balanced on the palate by a velvety texture and mineral freshness. Ideal to accompany roast lamb or truffles.
Nestled at the heart of the Margaux appellation, this historic estate has embodied Bordeaux excellence since the 17th century, combining family tradition and exceptional expertise.
- Terroir : Deep gravels and clay-limestone soils of Margaux, shaping wines of mineral elegance and rare aromatic finesse.
- Vinification : A meticulous blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, patiently aged to reveal the full complexity of the terroir.
To the eye – A deep ruby robe with tawny highlights, of a silky density and a brilliance that betrays its harmonious maturity.
On the nose – A bouquet where notes of cedar and graphite emerge first, followed by aromas of candied blackcurrant, blond tobacco and a touch of damp undergrowth, all lifted by a subtle chalky salinity.
On the palate – A velvety texture, driven by a lively acidity and a persistent minerality, where the melted tannins stretch into a long and flavorful finish, marked by gentle spices and a hint of licorice.
Serve at 16°C in a Bordeaux glass to enhance its complexity.
A sunny and balanced vintage, where the summer heat ripened the grapes without compromising their freshness, offering a wine of rare harmony.
- Aging potential : At its peak today, this wine can still be cellared for 5 to 10 years under optimal conditions (cool and humid cellar, away from light).
