The Marsannay Les Ouzeloy 2023 from Domaine Joseph Roty, crafted from Pinot Noir (65-year-old vines), expresses the chalky soils of Marsannay. Red fruits, spices and minerality come together in a taut and silky palate. To be savoured today or cellared for 5-8 years, with meats or matured cheeses.
Heir to a family tradition rooted in the Côte de Nuits, Domaine Joseph Roty perpetuates an artisanal savoir-faire across several generations.
- Terroir : Clay-limestone and marl soils of Marsannay, where the old vines – averaging 65 years of age – draw a chalky minerality and a characteristic depth.
- Vinification : A traditional approach, combining long maceration and barrel ageing to reveal the natural elegance of Pinot Noir.
- To the eye : A ruby robe with garnet highlights, of a silky and luminous density.
- On the nose : Aromas of morello cherry, wild blackberry and violet, lifted by a hint of liquorice and a subtle chalky note, almost saline.
- On the palate : A velvety texture, carried by a lively acidity and a taut minerality, stretching into a long and precise finish, marked by gentle spices.
Serve between 14 and 16°C, in a Burgundy glass to exalt its purity.
A vintage marked by balanced ripeness, where freshness and concentration blend in harmony.
- Ageing potential : To be stored for 5 to 8 years in a cool cellar, away from light, to allow its mineral and fruity nuances to fully develop.
