Champagne Entre Ciel et Terre by Françoise Bedel & Fils draws its character from the clay-limestone soils of the Vallée de la Marne. A blend of Pinot Noir (60%) and Pinot Meunier (40%), aged five years on the lees. White-flower and citrus aromas lead to a mineral, saline palate. Aging potential: 3 to 5 years.
A family estate rooted in the Vallée de la Marne, where biodynamics has shaped champagnes of rare purity for more than two decades.
- Terroir : 8.4 hectares of vines aged 30 to 70 years, planted in Nanteuil-sur-Marne’s clay-limestone soils, where the temperate climate brings out the grapes’ minerality.
- Winemaking : Extended aging on the lees (60 months), native yeasts and complete malolactic fermentation produce cuvées of remarkable tension and complexity.
Tasting notes for Françoise Bedel Entre Ciel et Terre
– Appearance : Golden color with bright highlights and fine, persistent effervescence, like a veil of silk over a chalky backdrop.
– Nose : Fresh hawthorn and acacia notes, followed by ripe citrus, toast and a touch of floral honey, all lifted by subtle mineral salinity.
– Palate : A lively, precise opening and a generous yet taut texture, where citrusy acidity meets chalky minerality, lead to a saline, elegantly long finish.
Serve at 8–10 °C in a tulip glass with a wide bowl to release its full complexity.
Nonvintage
A blended cuvée in which each lot, aged five years on the lees, reflects the balance and consistency of the Nanteuil-sur-Marne terroir.
- Aging potential : 3 to 5 years under optimal storage conditions, at a stable temperature and away from light.
