Château Palmer 1971, Margaux Grand Cru Classé, born on gravelly soils where Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon thrive. Aged in oak barrels, it reveals notes of dark fruits, thyme, and spices. A velvety, fresh, and mineral palate, ideal alongside a beef tenderloin in truffle crust.
Nestled in the heart of the Margaux appellation, this family estate has embodied Bordeaux excellence for nearly a century, combining tradition and innovation.
- Terroir: Gravelly-sandy soils of Margaux, where Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot draw their minerality and elegance.
- Vinification: A biological and biodynamic approach, with precise aging in oak barrels for wines of rare finesse.
To the eye – A garnet-red robe with tawny highlights, of a silky and deep texture, like velvet aged by time.
On the nose – A bouquet where candied black cherry, fresh bay leaf, a touch of smoky cedar, and a saline note reminiscent of forest undergrowth after rain intertwine.
On the palate – A velvety attack, carried by a lively acidity and a chalky minerality, stretching into a long, spiced finish where hints of raspberry and thyme emerge.
Serve at 16–18°C, in a Bordeaux glass to release its full complexity.
A vintage of balance, where the maturity of the grapes gave birth to a Margaux that is both generous and refined.
- Aging potential: Can be cellared for another 5 to 10 years in a cellar with a stable temperature (12–14°C) and away from light.
