Nestled on the limestone plateau of Saint-Émilion, this family estate has embodied Bordeaux excellence for centuries, combining tradition and precision.
- Terroir: Clay-limestone and chalky soils of the right bank, the cradle of great Merlot and Cabernet Franc, conferring upon the wines a distinctive minerality and rare elegance.
- Vinification: Hand harvesting, plot-by-plot vinification and aging in French oak barrels for a pure and structured expression of the terroir.
Tasting notes for Château Canon 1973
To the eye: Deep garnet robe with tawny highlights, of a silky texture and a velvety density, betraying its maturity and balance.
On the nose: Aromas of candied blackberry, ripe blackcurrant and prune, lifted by a hint of cedar, blonde tobacco and a subtle chalky salinity, evoking the limestone soils of Saint-Émilion.
On the palate: Round and fleshy attack, driven by a lively acidity and a taut minerality, with melted yet persistent tannins, and a long finish marked by notes of liquorice and soft spices.
Serve at 16–18°C in a Bordeaux glass to release its full complexity.
