Tasting notes for Domaine Michel Lafarge Volnay 1er Cru Les Caillerets 2012
To the eye: Deep ruby robe with garnet highlights, of a silky and luminous texture.
On the nose: Freshness of morello cherry and crunchy raspberry, evolving towards notes of peony and violet, before a saline and chalky touch reminiscent of the vineyard's limestone soils.
On the palate: A precise and vibrant attack, carried by a lively acidity and fine, almost powdery tannins, which release a persistent minerality and a long finish, marked by aromas of liquorice and undergrowth.
Serve at 14-16°C in a Burgundy glass to reveal its full complexity.
Vintage 2012
A vintage marked by balanced ripeness and preserved freshness, offering wines of great tension and classic elegance.
- Aging potential: 10 to 15 years, to be stored in a cool cellar (12-14°C) away from light.
