From the clay-limestone hillsides of Volnay, the Volnay 1er Cru Clos des Chênes 2008 from Domaine Michel Lafarge is a Pinot Noir aged in barrels. Notes of cherry, minerality and silky tannins compose this balanced wine. Perfect with duck breast or for cellaring over 10 years.

A family estate rooted in the hillsides of Volnay, where Pinot Noir expresses itself with rare elegance, shaped by generations of expertise.
- Terroir: Clay-limestone soils of the Côte de Beaune, the birthplace of Burgundy's grand crus, where each plot reveals a chalky minerality and characteristic tension.
- Winemaking: Traditional methods, carefully controlled aging in oak barrels, for wines of remarkable precision and purity, free from artifice.
Tasting notes for Domaine Michel Lafarge Volnay 1er Cru Clos des Chênes 2008
To the eye: A garnet-red robe with tawny reflections, of a silky texture and velvety density, already betraying a harmonious maturity.
On the nose: Aromas of black cherry and ripe plum intertwine with notes of violet and undergrowth, lifted by a saline hint and a touch of liquorice, all underpinned by a discreet yet persistent minerality.
On the palate: A lively and precise attack, where silky tannins envelop a taut acidity, while a long, chalky finish releases bursts of red fruits and gentle spices.
Serve at 14–16°C in a Burgundy glass to release its full complexity.
