This Griotte-Chambertin Grand Cru 1997 by Joseph Drouhin, from the limestone soils of the Côte de Nuits, is a Pinot Noir with aromas of cherry, leather and spices. Aged in oak barrels, it offers a silky and mineral palate. Perfect until 2030 with game or aged cheeses.

Tasting notes for the Joseph Drouhin Griotte-Chambertin Grand Cru 1997
In the eye: a deep garnet robe with tawny reflections, of a velvety and dense texture.
On the nose: aromas of candied cherry and morello cherry liqueur, followed by notes of fine leather, nutmeg, and a saline touch reminiscent of damp undergrowth.
On the palate: a silky attack, a lively acidity and a chalky minerality that carries a long, taut finish, where gentle spices and ripe fruits intertwine.
Serve at 16-18°C in a Burgundy glass to reveal its full complexity.
