This Griotte-Chambertin Grand Cru 1985 by Jean-Claude Fourrier, grown on clay-limestone soils, comes from old Pinot Noir vines (1928). Aged in neutral barrels, it captivates with its notes of dark fruit, spices and mineral texture. Perfect with game, to be enjoyed by 2030.
Heir to generations of family expertise in the Côte de Nuits, Domaine Fourrier has embodied the elegance of great Burgundy wines for generations.
- Terroir: Clay-limestone soils of Gevrey-Chambertin, the birthplace of Burgundy's most precise and mineral Pinot Noirs.
- Vinification: Traditional methods combining gentle maceration, aging in neutral barrels and respect for natural balance.
Tasting notes for Domaine Fourrier Griotte-Chambertin Grand Cru 1985
To the eye: Garnet robe with tawny highlights, of a silky texture and chalky density that heralds its depth.
On the nose: Aromas of ripe morello cherry, damp undergrowth, soft liquorice and black truffle, lifted by a saline touch and a stony minerality.
On the palate: Velvety attack, lively acidity and melted tannins woven into a tight structure, carried by a chalky minerality and a long, almost saline finish.
Serve at 16–18°C in a Burgundy glass to release its full complexity.
