The Ramonet Puligny-Montrachet Premier Cru Champs Canet 2018 from Domaine Ramonet is a Chardonnay from the clay-limestone hillsides of Puligny-Montrachet. Aged in barrels, it unveils aromas of pear and white flowers, enhanced by a chalky minerality and a hint of vanilla. On the palate, its silky texture and lively freshness combine with a saline tension. To be enjoyed now or cellared for 8 to 10 years, it pairs beautifully with fish and aged cheeses.
Domaine Ramonet
Nestled in the heart of the Côte de Beaune, this family estate has embodied the excellence of great Burgundy white wines for nearly a century.
- Terroir: Limestone and marl soils of the Puligny-Montrachet and Chassagne-Montrachet appellations, where Chardonnay reveals its full minerality and finesse.
- Vinification: Aged in oak barrels, respecting natural cycles and pursuing a pure and elegant expression of the terroir.
Tasting notes for Domaine Ramonet Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Champs Canet 2018
To the eye: Golden robe with green highlights, of silky clarity and crystalline brilliance.
On the nose: Aromas of Williams pear and tart apple, lifted by notes of hawthorn blossom and fresh almond, before a saline and chalky undertone.
On the palate: Smooth and taut texture, driven by a lively acidity and a saline minerality, leading to a long and precise finish marked by hints of flint.
Serve between 12 and 14°C in a Burgundy glass to bring out its full complexity.
Vintage 2018
A generous vintage, where the ripeness of the grapes combines with a mineral freshness characteristic of the great Puligny-Montrachets.
- Aging potential: 10 to 15 years, to be stored in a cool cellar (12–14°C) away from light.
