The Musigny Grand Cru 1997 from Domaine Jacques-Frédéric Mugnier embodies the elegance of great Burgundy wines. Made from Pinot Noir, it offers notes of cherry, rose and spices, with a silky texture and saline minerality. Perfect with game or aged cheeses.
A family estate rooted in the heart of the Côte de Nuits, where the Burgundian heritage is passed down with rare exigence.
- Terroir : The vines, nestled on the hillsides of Chambolle-Musigny, draw their character from limestone and marly soils, shaping wines of mineral elegance.
- Vinification : A fruit-forward approach, with controlled yields and measured aging in oak barrels, to reveal the purity of the Pinot Noir.
Tasting notes for Domaine Jacques-Frédéric Mugnier Musigny Grand Cru 1997
To the eye – A garnet red robe with tawny highlights, of silky density, like liquid velvet capturing the light.
On the nose – First aromas of black cherry and fresh violet, followed by a hint of damp undergrowth, liquorice and a subtle chalky note, evoking the limestone soils of the terroir.
On the palate – An unctuous yet taut texture, carried by a lively acidity and saline minerality, stretching into a remarkably long finish where sweet spices and ripe fruit intertwine.
Serve at 16-18°C in a Burgundy glass to release its full complexity.
Vintage 1997
A classic Burgundy vintage, where the ripeness of the grapes is allied with preserved freshness, offering a perfect balance for this Grand Cru.
- Aging potential : At its peak between 2002 and 2012, this wine can still improve with optimal storage conditions (stable temperature, controlled humidity).
