Tasting notes for the wine Château Léoville Las Cases 1976
To the eye – A tawny robe, deep and slightly amber, revealing a silky texture and a perfectly mastered evolution.
On the nose – A tertiary bouquet where aromas of damp undergrowth, blonde tobacco, roasted cocoa, candied plum and a saline touch of cedar and aged leather intertwine.
On the palate – A velvety attack, carried by melted yet still present tannins, a lively acidity that brings freshness, and a long, mentholated finish marked by a chalky minerality.
To be served between 17 and 18°C, in a Bordeaux glass to release its full complexity.
