Tasting notes for Château Gruaud Larose Gruaud Larose 1985
To the eye – A deep ruby robe with tawny highlights, dense and slightly concentrated, betraying accomplished maturity and remarkable concentration.
On the nose – First notes of candied blackcurrant and wild blackberry, followed by a hint of cedar and blond tobacco, before a subtle touch of graphite anchors the bouquet in a chalky minerality.
On the palate – The texture is silky, wrapped in a lively acidity that carries a tannic structure still present yet well-integrated, while a saline and persistent finish reveals the full tension of this great Saint-Julien.
Serve at 16°C in a Bordeaux glass to release its deepest aromas.
