The Blanc de Noirs Extra Brut 2018 from Marie Courtin, born in Polisot on clay-limestone soils, reveals a biodynamic Pinot Noir aged in barrels. Mineral and taut, this champagne without dosage seduces with its freshness and velvety texture. Perfect until 2028 with seafood or roast chicken.
Nestled in Polisot, at the heart of the Côte des Bar, this family estate embodies the alliance of an exceptional terroir and a viticulture respectful of natural cycles.
- Terroir: Clay-limestone soils of the Aube, shaping champagnes of singular minerality, far from the codes of the Montagne de Reims.
- Vinification: Elaboration in oak barrels, extended aging on lees and minimal dosage to reveal the purity of Pinot Noir.
Tasting notes for Marie-Courtin Efflorescence Blanc de Noirs Extra Brut 2018
To the eye – A golden robe with pale highlights, of silky texture and a fine, persistent effervescence, like a lacework of bubbles.
On the nose – First notes of green apple and hawthorn blossom, then deeper aromas of toast and roasted hazelnut, lifted by a saline touch reminiscent of sea spray.
On the palate – A lively and precise attack, carried by a taut acidity and a chalky minerality, before a long, saline finish where freshness and complexity intertwine.
Serve between 8 and 10°C in a tall flute to preserve the finesse of the bubbles.
