The Pétrus 2010 from Pétrus, born from the blue clay of Pomerol, is a 100% Merlot red wine with aromas of black fruits and spices. Its ageing in barrels reveals a silky and mineral palate, balanced and precise. Ideal for cellaring until 2060, it pairs beautifully with game and aged cheeses.
Nestled in the heart of Pomerol, Pétrus embodies the excellence of a unique terroir, shaped by generations of expertise and an uncompromising passion for Merlot.
- Terroir: A rare blue clay soil on the Pomerol plateau gives the wines an unrivalled mineral density and depth.
- Vinification: A meticulous elaboration, between tradition and precision, to reveal the purest expression of the grape variety and the terroir.
Tasting notes for Pétrus 2010
To the eye: A deep red robe with garnet reflections, of a silky density and a crystalline brilliance.
On the nose: A generous bouquet where candied black cherry, wild blackberry, touches of roasted coffee and a hint of liquorice intermingle, the whole underlined by a chalky minerality and a subtle salinity.
On the palate: A velvety, almost unctuous texture, carried by a lively acidity and a mineral tension that balances the richness of the tannins. The finish, of remarkable length, leaves lingering notes of black fruits and sweet spices.
Serve at 16°C in a Bordeaux glass to exalt its complexity.
Vintage 2010
An exceptional vintage, marked by perfect grape ripeness and rare concentration, offering an ideal balance between power and elegance.
- Aging potential: 30 to 50 years, to be stored under optimal conditions (stable temperature, controlled hygrometry).
