The Pétrus 1997, born from the blue clay of Pomerol, blends 96% Merlot and 4% Cabernet Franc. Aged 20 months in new barrels, it reveals notes of dark fruits, truffle and spices. Its palate, silky and mineral, offers a precise freshness. Ideal with a truffle-stuffed capon.
Nestled at the heart of Pomerol, Pétrus embodies the excellence of a family terroir where heritage mingles with a perpetual quest for precision.
- Terroir : A unique blue clay soil, rich in iron slag, shapes wines of rare depth, rooted in the Pomerol appellation.
- Winemaking : Hand harvesting and 20 months of aging in new barrels reveal a pure and structured expression of Merlot.
Tasting notes for Pétrus 1997

- On the nose : A precise bouquet unfolds in notes of ripe blackcurrant, fresh violet, then black truffle and cedar, lifted by a mineral touch of graphite.
- On the palate : The texture is velvety, carried by a lively acidity and a chalky minerality, while the long, saline finish leaves an impression of liquorice and mocha.
