The Pétrus 1986, Pomerol fine wine, from a terroir of blue clay and gravel. This pure Merlot offers blackcurrant, truffle and roasted coffee, with a smoky edge. Silky, mineral and fresh palate. Ideal for cellaring, with a truffled pheasant.
Nestled in the heart of Pomerol, the Pétrus estate embodies the excellence of a family terroir, shaped by generations of expertise.
- Terroir: A unique soil of blue clay and gravel, enriched with iron slag, confers upon the wines a mineral depth and a rare elegance.
- Vinification: A rigorous selection of Merlot grapes, hand-harvested, and precise winemaking to reveal the purity of the fruit and the complexity of the terroir.
Tasting notes for Pétrus 1986
To the eye – A garnet red robe with brick-red hues, dense and silky, betraying an accomplished maturity.
On the nose – Aromas of black cherry and fresh blackcurrant intertwine with deeper notes of truffle, cedar and green tea, lifted by a saline touch and a subtle smokiness.
On the palate – A velvety texture, carried by a lively acidity and a chalky minerality, stretches into a long and taut finish, where roasted vegetables and gentle spices intertwine.
Serve at 16-18°C in a Bordeaux glass to enhance its complexity.
