The Pétrus 1986, fine wine from Pomerol, comes from a black clay soil. This Merlot (96%), aged in new oak barrels, reveals notes of dark fruits and spices. Its palate, silky and mineral, captivates with its length. Perfect until 2030, paired with game or aged cheese.
Nestled in the heart of Pomerol, this legendary estate has embodied Bordeaux excellence for generations, shaped by an exceptional terroir and an uncompromising family tradition.
- Terroir : Unique black clay of Pomerol, deep and rich soils that lend the Merlot a rare density and minerality, anchored in the appellation.
- Vinification : Patient aging in new oak barrels, manual harvesting and rigorous selection for a pure expression of the grape variety, without artifice.
Tasting notes for Pétrus 1986
On the eye – A deep ruby robe with garnet reflections, dense and silky, betraying an accomplished maturity and a velvety structure.
On the nose – Aromas of wild blueberries and candied blackberries, lifted by notes of liquorice, cedar and a saline touch, like a mineral breath rising from the clay soils.
On the palate – An ample and precise texture, carried by a lively acidity and melted tannins, where dried figs, soft spices and a long, chalky finish of taut elegance intertwine.
Serve at 16 °C in a Bordeaux glass to release its full complexity.
