From the chalky soils of Mareuil-sur-Aÿ, the Champagne 1er Cru Solera Extra Brut by R. Pouillon & Fils blends Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Aged in solera, it offers aromas of citrus and brioche, a mineral palate and a precise freshness. Ideal with seafood, to be enjoyed within 10 years.
R. Pouillon & Fils
A family estate rooted in the hillsides of Mareuil-sur-Aÿ, where the art of the vine has been passed down through three generations.
- Terroir: 7.7 hectares of Premier Cru plots, on clay-limestone soils that sculpt the mineral elegance of the wines.
- Vinification: Solera method and aging in oak barrels, for champagnes of a timeless depth.
Tasting notes for Champagne R. Pouillon & Fils 1er Cru Solera
To the eye – Pale gold robe with green highlights, crossed by a fine and persistent mousse, like liquid silk.
On the nose – Bitter orange zest, ripe Williams pear, toasted brioche and a touch of Timut pepper, lifted by a chalky minerality.
On the palate – Silky and taut texture, carried by a lively acidity and a chalky salinity, for a finish of precise and elegant length.
Serve between 6 and 8°C in a champagne flute or a white wine glass to reveal its full complexity.
Vintage NV
A non-vintage cuvée, where the solera method fuses the years to create a timeless champagne, faithful to the spirit of the terroir.
- Aging potential: 5 to 10 years, to be stored away from light and temperature variations, bottle on its side.
