R Pouillon 1er Cru Le Montgruguet Extra Brut 2019, a Blanc de Noirs from Mareuil-sur-Aÿ, reveals chalky soils. Made from Pinot Noir, fermented in barrels, it offers notes of red fruits and a lively palate. Its Extra Brut dosage balances its freshness. To be enjoyed through 2027 with seafood.
A family estate rooted in Mareuil-sur-Aÿ, where the Champagne heritage is passed down with exacting standards and respect for the terroir.
- Terroir: Chalky soils of the Montagne de Reims, plots classified 1er Cru, where Pinot Noir thrives on a mineral subsoil with no topsoil.
- Vinification: Fermentation in neutral oak barrels, indigenous yeasts and Extra Brut dosage for a pure and taut expression of the terroir.
Tasting notes for wine R. Pouillon & Fils 1er Cru Le Montgruguet Extra Brut 2019
To the eye: A golden robe with pale reflections, of silky texture and crystalline clarity.
On the nose: Aromas of fresh red fruits (redcurrant, raspberry), followed by notes of white flowers, candied citrus and a saline touch evoking chalky limestone.
On the palate: A lively and precise attack, driven by elegant acidity and chalky minerality, with a long and saline finish where toasted brioche and fruity tension intertwine.
To be served between 8 and 10°C, in a champagne flute or a white wine glass to reveal its full complexity.
