The Champagne R Pouillon Grande Vallée Extra Brut, born from the clay-limestone terroirs of the Vallée de la Marne, blends Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay. Fermented in barrels, it offers a golden robe, aromas of acacia and honey, and a silky palate. Dosed at 2 g/l, ideal as an aperitif.
A family estate rooted in Mareuil-sur-Aÿ, where time is measured in generations and the terroir in chalky nuances.
- Terroir: Clay-limestone soils of the Vallée de la Marne, where Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay draw their minerality and tension.
- Winemaking: Artisanal method combining neutral barrels, oak foudres and indigenous yeasts for champagnes of vibrant purity.
Tasting notes for Champagne R. Pouillon & Fils Grande Vallée Extra Brut
In the eye – Golden robe with pale highlights, crossed by a ribbon of fine and persistent bubbles, like a veil of silk over a chalky background.
On the nose – First acacia and white flower, followed by a touch of candied pear and summer honey, before a saline edge recalls the chalky soils of Mareuil-sur-Aÿ.
On the palate – Silky and tense texture, where a lively acidity engages with a chalky minerality, while the finish stretches into notes of toasted almond and ripe yellow fruits, of precise and elegant length.
Serve between 8 and 10°C in a tall flute or a white wine glass to preserve its freshness and aromas.
Non-vintage
A harmonious blend of several years, where reserve wines bring depth and complexity to a fresh and vibrant base.
- Aging potential: 5 to 8 years in a cool cellar, away from light, to allow its mineral and fruity nuances to fully develop.
