The Chablis 1er Cru Montée de Tonnerre 2023 from Domaine François Raveneau is born on the Kimmeridgian soils of Chablis, where limestone and marine fossils sculpt its minerality. Sourced from old vines in the lieu-dits Chapelot and Pied d'Aloup, this Chardonnay reveals aromas of white peach and flint. On the palate, its lively tension and saline finish make it a wine for aging (15 years), perfect with oysters or grilled lobster.
A pillar of Chablis since 1948, this family estate embodies the rare alliance between artisanal tradition and geological precision.
- Terroir: Kimmeridgian limestone and blue clay soils, south-southwest facing, shaping wines of crystalline minerality.
- Vinification: Fermentation in oak barrels and extended aging on the lees, for a pure expression and a silky texture.
