Born on the gravel soils of Pessac-Léognan, Château Smith Haut Lafitte 1982 (Grand Cru Classé) blends Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc. Aged 18 months in new oak barrels, it offers aromas of dark fruits and spices, with a well-balanced palate. Perfect until 2040 with red meats.

To the eye – A garnet red robe with tawny reflections, of silky density and subtle brilliance, betraying its age with grace.
On the nose – Aromas of candied blackcurrant, toasted cedar and blond tobacco, lifted by a hint of damp undergrowth and a saline edge, like a sea breeze over the Graves.
On the palate – A velvety yet taut texture, carried by a lively acidity and a chalky minerality, with a long, spiced finish where notes of liquorice and black mushroom emerge.
Serve at 16-18°C in a Bordeaux glass to reveal its full complexity.
