Tasting notes for Château Smith Haut Lafitte Les Hauts de Smith 2001
To the eye: Deep ruby robe with garnet highlights, of a silky and luminous texture.
On the nose: Aromas of ripe strawberry and black cherry intertwine with notes of gentle spices – cinnamon and star anise – before revealing a subtle and persistent mineral hint of flint.
On the palate: A round and supple attack, supported by lively acidity and elegant tannins, while a chalky minerality carries a long and aromatic finish.
Serve at 16°C in a Bordeaux glass to reveal its full purity.

A vintage marked by ideal climatic balance, yielding structured and approachable wines while retaining a remarkable aging potential.
