Tasting notes for the wine Château Smith Haut Lafitte 1993
To the eye – Deep garnet robe with tawny highlights, of a silky density and a crystalline brilliance.
On the nose – Aromas of ripe blackcurrant, cedar and blonde tobacco, lifted by a touch of liquorice and a subtle chalky note, like a mineral breath rising from the gravels.
On the palate – Velvety texture, carried by a lively acidity and a fine tannic frame, where dark fruits, soft spices and a saline, long and precise finish intertwine.
Serve at 16–18°C in a Bordeaux glass to release its full complexity.
