The Smith Haut Lafitte Blanc 1995, a Cru Classé from Pessac-Léognan, is crafted from Sauvignon Blanc, Sémillon and Sauvignon Gris. Aged 18 months in barrel, it offers notes of citrus, elegant minerality and a lively palate. Perfect with fine fish dishes, to be enjoyed through 2035.
A family estate rooted in the gravels of Pessac-Léognan, where Bordeaux heritage and a pursuit of excellence have been intertwined for generations.
- Terroir: Gravelly and clay-limestone soils of Martillac, the cradle of Bordeaux's great whites, lending the wines a chalky minerality and a characteristic tension.
- Vinification: Aged in oak barrels for 18 months, with barrel fermentation to preserve the purity of the fruit while imparting a silky, complex structure.
Tasting notes for Château Smith Haut Lafitte Blanc 1995
To the eye – A golden robe with green highlights, of crystalline clarity and an unctuous texture, like a veil of silk on the glass.
On the nose – Aromas of candied lemon, pink grapefruit and ripe mango, followed by a touch of acacia honey and a saline minerality reminiscent of sea spray.
On the palate – A lively, precise attack, carried by a taut acidity and chalky minerality, leading to a long, saline finish where notes of exotic fruits and gentle spices unfold.
Serve at 10–12°C in a white Bordeaux-style wine glass to reveal its full complexity.
