Tasting notes for Château Smith Haut Lafitte Blanc 2009
To the eye: A golden robe with green highlights, of a silky and luminous texture, heralding a generous and precise character.
On the nose: Aromas of white peach and ripe apricot intertwine with notes of candied citrus, acacia honey and a saline hint of oyster shell, carried by a chalky minerality.
On the palate: A lively and taut attack, where the purity of the fruit marries an elegant acidity, while a long, saline finish reveals the full complexity of the terroir.
Serve between 10 and 12°C in a Bordeaux-style white wine glass to bring out its nuances.
