History of Domaine Tellier 

Domaine Tellier, established in Moussy near Épernay, has its roots in 2016 when brothers Julien and Quentin Tellier took over the family estate. Their story is rooted in a winemaking heritage of eighteen plots located on mid-slopes, predominantly on a chalky terroir spread across five villages.

Terroirs and Vineyards

The estate occupies a privileged location between the Montagne de Reims and the Côte des Blancs, with mid-slope plots spread across five villages. Each plot, depending on its location, topography and soil structure, represents a distinct micro-terroir. Two soil types stand out: that of Moussy and Pierry, characterized by a dominance of pinot meunier, and that of Chavot, Fontaine-sur-Aÿ and Cramant, bringing elegance and minerality to the wines.

The terroir of Domaine Tellier is thus characterized by two distinct soil types:

Moussy et Pierry - Le domaine des Conardins historical: Dominated by pinot meunier (59%), followed by chardonnay (35%) and a touch of pinot noir (6%), this terroir offers deep soils on a chalky parent rock, lending structure, power and length to the wines.

Chavot, Fontaine-sur-Aÿ and Cramant: These small plots, with shallow soils over an outcropping chalk, bring principally elegance and minerality to the wines.

Viticulture and Winemaking

The estate favors a natural approach to vineyard management, considering nature as an unpredictable yet well-orchestrated conductor. Research, observation and rigor are the pillars of the vineyard work.

The modern cellar facilitates the work while preserving the quality of the wines. The winemaking, carried out at the estate, favors genuine plot-by-plot work with a 6,000 kg press. Aging takes place in oak barrels, with 100% barrel fermentation.

The Estate's Cuvées

The estate offers a range of cuvées faithfully reflecting the identity of its unique terroir. The still wines are vinified separately, thus preserving the diversity of the terroir. The flagship cuvées include the Or Faivre Blanc de Meuniers Extra Brut, L'Aguerrie Réserve Extra Brut, Les Champs de Romy Blanc de Blancs, Les Perles du Paradis Extra Brut Rosé and Reflet Naturel Blanc de Noirs. In addition to these cuvées, exclusive editions are created depending on the vintage. All the champagnes are vintage-dated, age on lees for 40 months, and are lightly or not at all dosed. On the palate, these champagnes reveal elegance and tension, making them ideal companions for fine dining.
