Jacques Lassaigne

Jacques Lassaigne, a Champagne estate without artifice

The wines from Jacques Lassaigne

In the south of Champagne, in Montgueux, in the Aube, the Jacques Lassaigne family estate has maintained its 4 hectares of vines since 1964. The feet of Chardonnay with an average of 40 years flourish here in the middle of the Cote des Bar where Pinot Noir remains the majority. This limestone hill with a cool climate, overlooking the Seine valley, has earned Montgueux the nickname of Montrachet de la Champagne in reference to the famous homonymous mountain of Burgundy. Emmanuel Lassaigne took over the estate in 1999 according to the principles of organic and biodynamic cultivation (not certified). In the cellar, the desire for the least intervention applies, the vinification is made with indigenous yeasts, no addition of sulfite or liquor is made after disgorging. Blanc de Blancs Emmanuel Lassaigne (son of Jacques) stands out with its elegant bubble, its suave profile, different from the wines of the Cote des Blancs, more taut and chiseled.
