Based in Cramant, at the heart of the Côte des Blancs, Champagne Aurélien Suenen has established itself in just a few vintages as one of the most sought-after names of the new Champagne generation. Across three hectares of chardonnay spread across the Grands Crus of Cramant, Chouilly, and Oiry, complemented by an extremely rare plot of franc de pied meunier, the winemaker crafts Blancs de Blancs of remarkable purity and tension. Parcel-by-parcel vinifications, indigenous yeasts, minimal dosage, and precise barrel work yield refined, deep, and very limited-production cuvées.

This thirty-something Champagne native crafts exceptional Champagnes across 3 hectares: Oiry, Cramant and Chouilly for the chardonnays, and a small plot of ungrafted Meunier vines in the Vesle valley. Aurélien Suenen carefully listens to and observes his terroir to reveal its purest expression in his Champagnes. A committed artisan winegrower, Aurélien Suenen allows the terroir to express itself in its most natural and healthy form, which is why he excluded all synthetic products from his practice as early as 2012, and carries out precise and rigorous work in the soils and vines, with a view to improving the balance of flora and fauna.
In the winery, the same philosophy applies: since 2014, Aurélien Suenen has championed spontaneous alcoholic fermentation, with no yeast additions in his Champagnes. No fining, no filtration, no forced cold stabilization — Suenen's Champagnes express themselves naturally, and tasting these exceptional Champagnes is a true delight. Masterful work in oak barrels further elevates these characterful Champagnes.
Aurélien Suenen produces white Champagnes of great breed, with a frank and deep palate across the various grand cru villages, in order to sublimate each terroir. Begin with the generosity of the Champagne Oiry Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru (a blend of five plots), then let yourself be tempted by the elegance and finesse of the Champagne C+C Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru (a blend of 10 plots from the terroirs of Cramant and Chouilly). Aurélien Suenen also crafts a remarkable single-vineyard Champagne from Cramant: Les Robarts, a vintage Champagne of extraordinary delicacy, first produced in 2012 — and you will soon discover Champagne Aurélien Suenen Le Mont Aigu, a single-vineyard from Chouilly, and La Cocluette, a lieu-dit in Oiry, both vintaged for the first time in 2013.
