- Terroir : Soils of clay, gravel and sand in the Saint-Émilion Grand Cru appellation, shaping wines of mineral elegance and rare depth.
- Vinification : A meticulous blend of Cabernet Franc and Merlot, patiently aged to reveal the purity of the fruit and the complexity of the terroir.
Tasting notes for Château Cheval Blanc 2003
The eye: A deep garnet-red robe of silky density, where light dances with velvety intensity.
On the nose: Aromas of candied black plum intertwine with notes of roasted mocha, damp truffle and gentle spices, lifted by a saline, chalky touch.
On the palate: A smooth and fleshy texture, underpinned by a lively acidity and taut minerality, stretching into a long and harmonious finish where ripe fruits and woody nuances intertwine.
Serve at 16–18°C in a Bordeaux glass to unlock its full complexity.
Vintage 2003
A vintage marked by intense heat, in which Château Cheval Blanc managed to tame the climatic excesses to deliver a wine of generous maturity and balanced structure.
