From the lieu-dit Les Enseignères, the Puligny-Montrachet 2001 by Coche-Dury is a Chardonnay aged on limestone soils. Notes of roasted almonds, chalky minerality and a taut palate are its defining traits. Perfect with shellfish, it will continue to develop until 2030.
Nestled at the heart of Meursault since the 1920s, this family estate embodies the excellence of the great white wines of Burgundy, combining tradition and precision.
- Terroir: Clay-limestone and marly soils of the Côte de Beaune, where Chardonnays reveal a chalky minerality and a rare elegance.
- Winemaking: Carefully controlled oak barrel aging, respect for the fruit and pursuit of pure tension, the hallmark of the estate.
Tasting notes for Domaine Coche-Dury Puligny-Montrachet Les Enseignères 2001
To the eye: Golden robe with green reflections, of a silky clarity and a promising density.
On the nose: Aromas of white flowers and candied lemon intertwine with notes of toasted almonds and roasted hazelnut, underscored by a discreet saline touch.
On the palate: Velvety texture and lively acidity, carried by a chalky minerality that extends into a long and precise finish, marked by a persistent salinity.
Serve between 12 and 14°C in a Burgundy glass to reveal its full complexity.
Vintage 2001
A balanced vintage, where the cool Burgundian nights preserved the acidity and tension, while allowing for optimal ripeness of the grapes.
- Aging potential: Drink until 2030, provided it is stored in a cool cellar (12–14°C) and away from light.
