Sourced from the clay-limestone soils of Flagey-Échezeaux, the Comte Liger-Belair Échézeaux 2011 is a Pinot Noir of great finesse. Notes of raspberry, spices and minerality, a silky palate and precise tannins. Ideal for long ageing, it pairs beautifully with game and dishes in sauce.
Nestled at the heart of the Château de Vosne-Romanée, this family estate embodies the excellence of the great wines of Burgundy, combining tradition and biodynamic precision.
- Terroir: Clay-limestone and marly soils of the Vosne-Romanée, Flagey-Échezeaux and Nuits-Saint-Georges appellations, where Pinot Noir reveals a chalky minerality and rare elegance.
- Vinification: Biodynamic approach and minimal intervention to preserve the purity of the fruit and the natural tension of the cuvées.
Tasting notes for Domaine du Comte Liger-Belair Échézeaux Grand Cru 2011
To the eye: A deep garnet red robe, of silky texture and crystalline brilliance, already betraying a dense substance and great precision.
On the nose: An airy bouquet of fresh raspberries and wild blackberries, lifted by a hint of tart blood orange, followed by deeper notes of undergrowth, cedar and soft spices, all underpinned by a saline minerality and a discreet smokiness.
On the palate: A velvety yet taut attack, where lively acidity and chalky minerality frame a core of ripe, concentrated fruit, while silky tannins extend a long, saline finish of youthful purity.
Serve at 16–18°C in a Burgundy glass to unlock its full complexity.
