François Lamarche Echezeaux Grand Cru 1985, born on the limestone slopes of the Côte de Nuits, is an exceptional Pinot Noir with aromas of cherry, liquorice and truffle. Tasting notes for the wine Domaine François Lamarche Echezeaux Grand Cru 1985
To the eye: A garnet robe with tawny reflections, of velvety density, betraying a harmonious maturity and an almost silky texture.
On the nose: Aromas of candied black cherry, damp undergrowth, sweet liquorice and faded violet, lifted by a saline touch and a hint of black truffle, the signature of the great terroirs of the Côte de Nuits.
On the palate: A precise and taut attack, where silky yet still-present tannins unfold alongside a lively acidity and a chalky minerality, leading to a long and persistent finish marked by notes of cocoa and soft spices.
Serve at 16–17°C in a Burgundy glass to release its full complexity.
Vintage 1985
A vintage marked by optimal grape ripeness, yielding full-bodied and well-balanced wines in which freshness mingles with a generous structure.
- Aging potential: At its peak today, this wine can still be cellared for 5 to 10 years under ideal conditions (stable temperature, controlled humidity and absence of light).
