Tasting notes for Pétrus 1988
To the eye – A garnet red robe with brick-red hues, dense and silky, betraying a harmonious maturity.
On the nose – First, aromas of candied blackcurrant and black cherry, then deeper notes of truffle, cedar and roasted coffee, lifted by a saline and earthy touch.
On the palate – A velvety texture, carried by a lively acidity and a chalky minerality, stretches into a long and persistent finish, where liquorice and gentle spices intertwine.
Serve at 16-18°C in a Bordeaux glass to release its full complexity.
