The Château Gazin 1994, a red wine from Pomerol, is born on gravelly soils where Merlot dominates. Aged in oak barrels, it offers notes of blackberry, cocoa and soft spices. Tasting notes for Château Gazin Gazin 1994
To the eye – A deep garnet robe, still vibrant, hinting at the density of a wine that has patiently refined its texture over the decades.
On the nose – First, aromas of wild blackberry and candied blackcurrant, followed by hints of blond tobacco, roasted coffee and a touch of vanilla, all lifted by a discreet mineral salinity.
On the palate – A velvety, almost silky attack, where the tension of the melted tannins marries a lively acidity and a chalky minerality, leading to a long and subtly spiced finish.
To be served between 16 and 18°C, in a Bordeaux glass to release its full aromatic range.
