The Guigal Saint-Joseph blanc 2007, from the granitic soils of Saint-Joseph, is a white wine by E. Guigal based on Marsanne and Roussanne. Fruity and floral, aged in barrel, it captivates with its mineral freshness and silky texture. Perfect through 2025 with shellfish or poultry.
A family estate rooted in Ampuis, E. Guigal has embodied the excellence of northern Rhône wines since 1946.
- Terroir: Granitic and schistous soils of the Saint-Joseph appellation, where steep hillsides shape wines of vibrant minerality and rare elegance.
- Vinification: Ageing in oak barrels for a harmony between structure and finesse, respecting the purity of the fruit and the tension of the terroir.
Tasting notes for E. Guigal Saint-Joseph blanc 2007
To the eye – Golden robe with pale reflections, of a silky clarity and a chalky density that heralds a generous substance.
On the nose – Aromas of Williams pear and acacia blossom intertwine with notes of summer honey and fresh almond, lifted by a saline touch and a hint of flint.
On the palate – Smooth and taut texture, carried by a lively acidity that underlines the granitic minerality, before a long and saline finish of crystalline purity.
Serve at 12–14°C in a white Burgundy-style wine glass to release its complex aromas.
